Biofeedback for Migraine
Biofeedback has become increasingly popular over the past decades to prevent and treat migraines. A general search of the world-wide web reveals that biofeedback is effective in decreasing the severity, duration, and frequency of migraines.
It is one of the few natural therapies to treat migraine than using drugs. In fact, biofeedback often used to steer patients away from their dependence on drugs.
Symptoms of Migraine:
- Intense, pulsating pain
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Vomiting
- Sensitivity light and sound
- Experiencing blind spots, and seeing flashing lights or lines (NHF).
A biofeedback migraine session normally takes a half hour to an hour. The number of sessions required, however, can vary significantly, depending on your individual progress. Once you have learned how to use biofeedback therapy to treat your migraines, it’s up to you, to learn how to manage it without the machinery.
Biofeedback training can instruct headache sufferers on how to control certain involuntary functions of the body, such as heart rate or body temperature, which can ward off headaches.
You’ll need professional help to learn the skill of biofeedback. But once you’ve learned how to control your response to your tension and migraines, you’ll be able to practice this relaxation technique at home.
